The paper railway is alive

The Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway has been through many difficult periods in its life. The last one quite recently - in 2009.

But it seems to have successfully overcome all the difficulties and is serving the public reliably.


The "Melior" locomotive will arrive in full force for its midday dose of travellers

After hard work, "Melior" needed a drink

Accumulation steam locomotive. It was manufactured in 1925 and was in operation until the paper mill closed in 1979. Volunteers are preparing it for its role as a static exhibit.
